I’m Rachel, a 16-year-old queer kid with depression and anxiety from North Carolina who’s known for smelling really good, having an obnoxious amount of opinions, and giving fantastic hugs. Or, at least, so I’ve heard.
I’m working on recreating myself as an act of pure love.
The things I dig include, but are certainly not limited to, body-positivity, sex- and ace-positivity, botany, meditation, finding at least a little beauty in everything, writing and receiving notes, nature, singing badly, making shitty art of all kinds, observing other people’s not-so-shitty art of all kinds, giving compliments, anti-oppression, the lovely folks I am proud to call my friends, food, sleeping, tea and coffee, messy hair, kissing, meeting those amazing people who just seem to shine, activism, books, dreaming, making and receiving mix tapes, going for long car rides while listening to said mix tapes, queer politics, travelling and being with people I adore. You can expect to hear about all those kinda things in my blog. Oh, and there will also be sharks. Lots of sharks.
Time for identity things! Well, I’m a pansexual, panromantic genderfluid person. Pronouns are e/em/eir or just singular they/their, please.
Maybe this would be a good time to mention things about content/trigger warnings. I, myself, have a few triggers. Warning, I mention a few things that might be triggering to you. Some things that can set me off are graphic pictures of violence (towards humans or animals), pictures/vivid descriptions of self-harm, shaming people with ED’s, body policing, talk of suicide, and the word “crazy.” If I ever post something that you personally find triggering, pleasepleaseplease tell me. I will add a warning on said post(s) and keep what you say in mind from that point on. Hurting others is the absolute last thing I want to do.
Don’t hesitate to ask me questions or leave me messages about anything. I prefer things that aren’t anonymous, so I can reply privately (especially if what we’re discussing could possibly be triggering), but it’s absolutely fine if you don’t want to say who you are; I understand. One of my favorite things is making other folks feel better, so if you ever need some cheering up, don’t hesitate to tell me. I’ll try and make you smile at least for a little bit. I’m here to listen.
If you’re looking for someone interesting, you should probably go talk to one of my friends. I mean, the only reason I’m writing this at all is because my internet is out, and the only thing I can think to do is write an “about the loser who runs this blog” page on Microsoft Word. My friends, however, are ridiculously amazing, and I think you’d like them.
I hope you have a lovely day!
